Creative Writing at Saint Leo University

Outcomes. Saint Leo's M.A. in Creative Writing is built for serious writers with a project to finish. Choose a specialization in fiction, creative nonfiction, or poetry, and work toward a book-length thesis manuscript with individualized mentorship from faculty who are active, publishing writers. You'll graduate with a completed or near-completed manuscript, not just coursework.
Flexibility. The 36-credit program is low-residency: four semesters of online study built around your work and family life, plus one six-day summer residency each year on University Campus in Florida. Residency week brings workshops, faculty craft talks, visiting writers, and a community that carries you through the online semesters.
Support. You'll work closely with a faculty mentor in your genre, with feedback that is personal and manuscript-focused. The application is free, no GRE is required, and there's no commitment until you register.
