Advisor: Defining the Role

Learn about the responsibilities of Student Advisors and what you can expect from them while you’re enrolled at Saint Leo.

The Student Advisor is your professional point of contact and is an advocate within the university community. The Student Advisor role acts as a liaison between you and the university for all academic matters, including initiating and conducting timely and proactive outreach with integrity and professionalism. Additionally, Student Advisors:

  • Help you define your objectives, and assess your fit with the program
  • Ensure you have a solid understanding of the time commitment, technology, and skills required to be a successful online learner
  • Assist you with registration, the financial aid process, ordering books, and technology setup
  • Serve as your primary resource for questions and concerns regarding degree requirements, programs, policies and procedures
  • Contact and register you in advance of the term start date
